- 1tbsp oil
- 500g diced Welsh Beef
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 6 rashers streaky bacon
- 1 large carrot, diced
- 2 sticks celery, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 500 ml passata
- 350 ml beef stock
- Seasoning
- 1 tsp dried mixed herbs
- 2 sprigs fresh thyme
- 2 bay leaves
- 500g gnocchi
- 75g parmesan shavings

- Heat the oil in a casserole dish and add the beef. Fry the beef until brown and remove from the dish.
- Add another dash of oil and add the onion, bacon, carrot, celery and garlic, fry for a few minutes to soften.
- Add the passata, stock and all the herbs then add the beef and stir well. Place a lid on the pan and simmer for 2 hours or until the beef cubes are tender.
- Add the gnocchi, stir and heat for a further 20 minutes, serve sprinkled with the cheese and a green salad.*Note, you can cook this in the oven at 180 oC/160 oC fan
